We're Leaving L.A.

It came really quick. Our six months are over and now we're headed out. Nathan starts residency in San Diego next month. We'll be moving down there first thing Saturday morning, and for now we're just trying to get everything all packed up. It is proving to be difficult with the kids. Julia keeps throwing random things in boxes and unpacking others, while Mason tries to eat any boxes or other things we leave on the floor. Hopefully the move will go smoothly. This will be our eighth since we got married almost five years ago!
It's been a sad week of goodbyes too, though. We went to Disneyland yesterday for the last time. Well, as for weekly trips. We will still probably make the 90 minute drive from SD every couple months. But we will miss the weekly venture.
Julia also had her soccer finale. She had a chance to say goodbye to her friends and coach. She had so much fun running around the field and doing jumping jacks.
We're gonna miss it here! Not so much the traffic, tiny apartment and huge rent, but our friends and all the cool things Los Angeles has to offer!

Quarter of a Century!

Yesterday, May 14th, was Nathan's 25th birthday! I almost felt like it was our whole families' birthday, though, because of all the fun we all had! We started out the day at Newport Beach. It was perfect! The weather was beautiful.

After a few hours at the beach, we headed over to Disneyland. Since Nathan doesn't need to get in free on his birthday (we have season passes), he received a gift card for the price of the ticket, $69, to spend in the park. So when we got there, we hit one ride and then Nathan spent the next couple of hours spoiling his kids. Julia got the most stuff, most of the things she was asking for when we would go every week. Nathan got her a Buzz Lightyear gun, a light sabre (that Nathan built himself in the Star Tours store), and a pirate hat, hook and sword. Really, you would think she was a boy. But I guess it's appropriate that her daddy got her all those gifts.

Then Nathan picked out a super soft Winnie the Pooh for Mason. He really loves it! All Nathan got for himself was a sweet treat in one of the bakeries. Afterward we were going to do dinner at Cheesecake Factory, but were way too tired, so we just hit In N Out Burger on the way home.
I think he had a great day. I am so happy he is my husband. He is so selfless and is a wonderful father. I love him so much! Happy Birthday Nathan!
